Picturesque

Picturesque

This ongoing series of work addresses our desire to contain life in a picture-perfect manner. The title ‘Picturesque’ and the use of the oval framing, stems from an early fascination with 18th century landscape gardens and landscape painting. These works feature moments observed, where the light and the affected landscape combine to appear almost paradisiacal or dream like. They hope to communicate the idea that not no moment, no matter how picturesque, can be immortalised; the reality in which they are based is continually shifting shape.
