Songwriting has been part of Rose-Marie’s life since she was 15, and although not the main part of her artistic practice, it has become something that sits alongside, occasionally feeding in and reflecting back on the same themes she explores in her paintings.

In May 2025 at Green Hill Arts Gallery in Moretonhampstead, Rose-Marie brought her music into an immersive event within her painting exhibition Even In The Dark; a concert with a twist. The exhibition space was made dark, all paintings obscured except for one which was lit shifting light, revealing and concealing the painting in slow cycles. From behind the audience, in the dark, Rose-Marie sang five songs back to back and accompanied by a small choir of family and friends.

The songs from this event have now been recorded and will be released in the form of an EP titled Even In The Dark.

Rose-Marie is launching this EP on March 13th 2026, it will be released in digital form and physical CD’s, both available from her bandcamp page. To celebrate the launch, she will also be holding another immersive event on the 13th March in the evening, similar to the one described above.
